Regular readers will know STARBURST loves to nurture new and upcoming filmmakers and recognise talent. Which is why Ghoster has excited us.

Although only at the concept stage, with a brief but incredibly impressive teaser that has been released on Vimeo (see below), this is one movie we can’t wait to see realised.
Having seen the amazing artistic interpretations of what we can expect, heard a little about the mythology of the story, coupled with the aforementioned concept film, we have high hopes that director Toby Meakins will be able to make an amazing film.

Co-created by Meakins and Thom Burgess, the official synopsis is:

The land is held in a grip of fear, plagued by vicious Malevolents – evil spirits that feed on pain, suffering and death. There remains one hope amidst the terror – James Tallier, a 21-year-old college dropout with an extraordinary birthright”.

Burgess told us, “The story of the whole thing (in a nutshell) is I’d been working on Ghoster on and off for years, In the meantime working on the prequel series of supernatural comics called ‘Malevolents’. The first of which came out in 2014 with book 2 due next month.  Last year, I teamed up with filmmaker Toby Meakins (who’d created horror shorts Breathe and LOT254 and who’d been signed to 360 Management in LA) to work on the story together”.

Ghoster has the potential to be a true multi-platform extravaganza – something that could crossover easily to games, comics, and books. We shall be watching the progress of the project closely and suggest you do too.
