In the wake of director Tim Miller recently departing Deadpool 2, now comes word on another departure for the sequel: composer Junkie XL.

Following Miller leaving Deadpool 2 due to the ever-familiar “creative differences”, he’s been followed out of the door by Tom Holkenborg, better known as Junkie XL. A key part of handling the score element of Deadpool’s music, Holkenborg will now instead switch his attention to upcoming projects such as The Dark Tower, Spectral and Godzilla 2. As well as his influence on Deadpool, Junkie XL is also best known for his work on huge blockbusters like Mad Max: Fury Road and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Confirming his departure from Deadpool 2 and the reasons behind it, Junkie XL took to his Facebook page with the following post:

Where Deadpool 2 stands, the latest rumour is that John Wick’s David Leitch may be the man who 20th Century Fox sign up to take over from director Tim Miller, with Leitch topping a list that also apparently features Cabin in the Woods’ Drew Goddard and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Magnus Martens. As for a replacement for Junkie XL, expect more on that as it develops.
