Some years back, Quentin Tarantino apparently approached DC Comics to gage their interest in running a Vertigo series exploring the world he’d created in PULP FICTION and RESERVOIR DOGS. It was set to throw the spotlight on Samuel L. Jackson’s Jules Winnfield, as he walks the Earth. Like Caine in KUNG FU.

Bafflingly, DC turned the acclaimed director down, and he went on with his day job of making awesome movies beloved by millions.

Cut to 2012, and the comic label has decided to have a re-think. On December 5th DC Comics will release their adaptation of DJANGO UNCHAINED, with Tarantino on scripting duties and art by R.M. Guera (SCALPED).

Ok, so it’s a tad redundant – even if it does contain extra material cut from the movie – but it’s still pretty cool nonetheless. And who knows, if sales are healthy, maybe we’ll eventually catch up with Jules after all.

DJANGO UNCHAINED will hit US cinemas on December 25th, and in the UK January 18th.
