Two conglomerates of East and West join forces to create a new range of Hello Kitty inspired DC items. Warner Bros Consumer Products and DC Entertainment have teamed up with Sanrio to dress up ol’ Hello Kitty in DC apparel, including Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman. The unveiling will take place next year and will include accessories, footwear, food products and stationary.

Hello Kitty is famous around the world, starting out in Japan and notably associated with Japanese and school girls, the new crossover may bring those fanbases into the bright buzzing world of comic books, especially DC.

The crossover also allows the cute Kitty White to dress up as some of DCs most independent, feisty, liberating women, quite the change.

Brad Globe, president, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, said in a statement: “Hello Kitty is an inspired choice for a momentous co-branding that will expand the reach and appeal of both DC Comics Super Heroes and Sanrio properties. This unique partnership joins two powerhouse brands that have a universal popularity across a variety of demographics and we know the collaboration will thrill fans of both properties.”

Character cross-overs have been a classic Hello Kitty spin off for years and our fans are always in search of the latest collaborations,” offered Sanrio’s Roberto Lanzi. “We are sure that this project will soon create a new collection fever.”
