Nightbreed Comic News

It’s been nearly a quarter of a century since we last saw the denizens of Midian in the 1990 movie NIGHTBREED. But the monsters of this hidden world will see the light of day once more as a comic series courtesy of BOOM! Studios.

Clive Barker’s NIGHTBREED has been adapted by artist Piotr Kowalski and writer Marc Andreyko based on the film, which was directed by Barker from his own 1988 novella CABAL.

The story centres on Aaron Boone, an unstable mental patient led to believe by his doctor that he is a serial killer. Whilst on the run from the police Boone finds refuge in an abandoned cemetery and discovers that it is home to a community of monsters and misfits who shun humanity.

“I’m writing the book to be both fully accessible to new readers and hit the spot for long-time fans of the property,” Andreyko told Multiversity. “The pitch: Monsters are real and they live in our world. Some in plain sight, others find refuge in the ancient city of Midian.”

“NIGHTBREED will chronicle tales – past and present – of these creatures and how they survive in a world that hates, fears, and wants to destroy them. From ancient Greece to colonial America to the world of today, there be monsters here.”

NIGHTBREED #1 will be released in May.
