Spidey fans must be ecstatic that Peter Parker is returning as The Amazing Spider-Man in Marvel Comic’s re-launch this April. Dan Slott’s Superior Spider-Man, featuring the Web-Head’s nemesis Doctor Octopus’ mind in Peter’s body was better than expected, but it will good to have Peter Parker back swinging above the streets of the Big Apple. 

But wait! If that doesn’t get your spider-sense tingling, how about a story that includes every Spider-Man from every Marvel reality. That’s right true believer, a web tangled-tale that not only features Peter Parker’s Spider-Man but also Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Ham, Ben Reilly, Scarlet Spider and various versions of Spider-Girl amongst many others.

Spidey scribe Dan Slott, along with artist Olivier Coipel, will unite all and every incarnation of Spider-Man in an event which Marvel Comics are calling  ‘Spider-Verse’.

Now don’t expect any of Spidey’s regular rogues to be the villain in this tale as Slott has stated that the J Michael Straczynski-created Morlun is the only “initial” adversary. However, “initial” would suggest that other baddies could have a hand, or tentacle, in events, which sees Morlun attempting to exterminate the hero from all realities.

Although ‘Spider-Verse’ doesn’t begin until November with Amazing Spider-Man #9, the seeds of the story will be sown in April’s Amazing Spider-Man #1, as well as in Marvel’s Free Comic Book Day Guardians of the Galaxy issue.
