Jurassic World is due to hit cinemas imminently, but director Colin Trevorrow has revealed that he won’t be returning to helm the next installment in the franchise.

When asked by BadTaste.it about returning to direct the next entry in the series, Trevorrow responded, “Jurassic Park is like Star Wars. Different directors can give a different taste to each movie. I would be involved in some way, but not as director.”

Current figures estimate that Jurassic World is set to open to over $100 million in the US alone, meaning that a further film in the franchise is pretty much a given. If that does indeed happen, expect Trevorrow to likely produce at best.

Starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Jake Johnson, Nick Robinson, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio, B.D. Wong, Omar Sy, Katie McGrath, Lauren Lapkus, Andy Buckley and Judy Greer, Jurassic World is released in the UK on June 11th.
