Upcoming thriller Widows is in talks to bring Colin Farrell in to star alongside a stellar ensemble cast.

As per Variety, Farrell is in negotiations to join the movie, itself based on the 1983 British miniseries that focussed on a heist attempt that went wrong. When four armed robbers are killed during this botched job, it’s down to their widows to pick up the pieces and finish the job. For Farrell, who recently signed on to star in Disney’s live-action Dumbo, his role will be that of a politician caught up in the middle of things.

Already on board for Widows are Viola Davis, Liam Neeson, Elizabeth Debicki, Michelle Rodriguez, Cynthia Eriyo, Andre Holland and Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya. Gone Girl’s Gillian Flynn is penning the screenplay alongside Steve McQueen (no, not that one…), who will also direct.

Expect more on this as we get it.
