For those of us who love to catalogue these things (and isn’t that pretty much all of us?), the good news about Wonderful Books’ THE CLASSIC DOCTOR WHO DVD COMPENDIUM (which we told you about back in April) is that it’s due out in a couple of weeks’ time, on August 4th.

The book details the entire 1963 – 1989 run of classic DOCTOR WHO on DVD (plus the 1996 TV Movie), and will contain comprehensive coverage of the value added material (or extra features, if you’re a normalton), plus non-spoilery summaries of the stories themselves, and a feature which joins the dots for novices in order to help them find other releases in the range they may like based upon the ones they’ve already seen. There are also five appendices, including a full party-pooping run-down of all the Easter Eggs featured on the DVDs, making the book the perfect aide memoire for the connoisseur and the ideal beginner’s guide for those who are just finding their way through the 4:3 years.

The author is Paul Smith, so those who are aware of last year’s TIME AND SPACE VISUALISER will know exactly how comprehensive and easily accessible the book is likely to be, and THE CLASSIC DOCTOR WHO DVD COMPENDIUM will be available via print-on-demand from Amazon, priced £16.99/$30.99, or as an ebook (price TBC).
