After a star-making turn in Quentin Tarantino’s INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, Christoph Waltz has gone on to become a big favourite of both fans and critics alike. Need a charismatic, sinister foreign villain? Waltz is right up your street. As such, it appears that this will be the case for the 58-year-old actor in Sam Mendes’ next James Bond movie. The Daily Mail is reporting that the two-time Academy Award winner is to play the man villain of the piece in the next Bond outing, currently still just being referred to as BOND 24.

If this does indeed prove to be true, Waltz will join a cast that currently includes Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Lea Seydoux and Dave Bautista. With Bautista playing the role of a hulking henchman, we’d say it’s safe to assume that Waltz’s character will be the one pulling his strings.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops. At present, BOND 24 is currently set for a November 6th, 2016 release.
