Many long-time 007 fans took umbrage with certain elements of last year’s SPECTRE, but it appears that we may see more of Christoph Waltz’s villain from the latest James Bond movie.

The Daily Star, of all places, is reporting that Waltz, whose rogue was revealed to be Blofeld by the time that SPECTRE came to a close, has a deal for two further Bond films. There is a catch, however, with Waltz’s return only to happen if Daniel Craig returns as 007.

A source told the outlet, “Christoph could make a brilliant ongoing man for Bond to battle like in the old days. But the important clincher of it is that Blofeld can only work with Daniel back in the role to keep continuity.”

What’s interesting here is whether Craig will be back as Bond. The actor has been quoted as saying he’d rather slit his wrists than play 007 again, whilst other reports claim he’s actually contracted for at least one further outing. Additionally, Craig later backtracked on the wrist-slitting comments, whilst on the contract front, producer Michael G. Wilson suggested that there are no further contracted Bond films in place for Craig, but that is something that they believe can be easily rectified.

Expect more on this as and when it develops, but it seems as if the key to all of this is whether or not Daniel Craig fancies donning the tuxedo once more to play cinema’s greatest spy.
