Having done wonders as Star-Lord in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and soon to be seen headlining JURASSIC WORLD, now comes news that Chris Pratt could very well be taking over the legendary role of Indiana Jones from Harrison Ford.

Deadline is reporting there has been initial talks from Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm about replacing Ford with a new Indiana Jones, and it’s believed that Pratt is the current frontrunner to take over the gig. Whether anything comes of it or not, the talks are said to be very, very preliminary at this stage.

Despite receiving generally poor reviews from critics, the last Indy film, INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL, grossed $786 million when it was released back in 2008. After that film, George Lucas talked about how there were plans for another entry in the series, although after the acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney things went quiet on that front. 72-year-old Harrison Ford has also talked about being open to returning to the franchise.

Expect more on this as it develops.
