The anarchic and excellent Moose Kid Comic has launched a special issue for children’s hospitals this Christmas and is looking to raise enough cash to distribute comics to kids all over the UK this festive period via the online fundraising portal Just Giving.

Moose Kid Comic is a free online comic for kids. The magazine is edited by Jamie Smart, who is best known to children for his work in The Dandy and The Beano, and probably better known to adults for his comic strip characters Looshkin and Bear. Jamie said, “One of the very first reasons we started Moose Kid Comics was to get comics to children in hospital.”

The 16-page, full-colour special features idiotic elves, tormented Santas, snowball fights and furious food, not to mention yetis, unicorns, spaceships and culinary kittens.

The comic will feature the talents of the brightest and the best in British comics, including Jess Bradley, Mark Stafford, Gary Northfield, Aaron Alexovich and Craig Knowles, all of whom are familiar faces in the world of comics for children.

The fundraising has already reached its initial goal of £2,000, but every penny raised goes to help cheering up children at Christmas time, which is a very good cause indeed.
