One of the best short films of the past few years, Delicacy has finally been made available to view online.

Director Helen Lyons-Curran made the short as part of her degree at The Manchester Film School in 2014, and since then it’s played at festivals all around the world and has racked up five awards including Best Student Drama at the 2014 Royal Television Society North West Awards and Best Cinematography at the US Hollywood International Film Festival 2015 and has nine more nominations in numerous categories at other world-renowned events.

The short takes place in WWII during the retreat to Dunkirk and focuses on two British soldiers of very different rank and background – and their struggle to survive while trapped in a cellar of a bombed church.

Since completing the film, Helen has worked on several other projects and is almost ready to launch her next short, the 30-minute Ends Meat, which promises to be something special. Not least since it’s written by former STARBURST Assistant Editor Kris Heys. Expect it to do big things when it hits film festivals this summer.
