Last month saw a rumour that Thor: Ragnarok’s villain could be a female. Not only that, there was even suggestion that Cate Blanchett could be up for the gig. Well today brings word that the two-time Oscar winner is now in talks for the film.

Variety is reporting that Blanchett is in discussions to play a mystery role in the third Thor movie. No further details are known on just which role she’s being lined up for at this stage, although last month the rumour was that she could possibly be playing either Hela, the Norse goddess of Death, or Amora the Enchantress, one of the most powerful magic-based beings in Asgard.

As ever expect more on this as it develops.

To be directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok is currently set for a November 3rd, 2017 release.
