It’s easy to become desensitised to remakes and reboots, but a well-timed ‘really?’ is in order. 12 years after making a name for himself, Deadline has reported that Eli Roth’s so-so CABIN FEVER is being remade (wait for it) seemingly from exactly the same script. The film has since gained a foothold in cultdom, spawning two dreadful sequels CABIN FEVER 2: SPRING FEVER and CABIN FEVER 3: PATIENT ZERO.

While Roth himself won’t be directing, he has full support for Travis Zariwny, saying ‘Travis had an amazing vision for my original script, and as a scary movie fan I really wanted to see it. I almost see this like re-staging a play, and I’m excited to see what ideas Travis and the cast bring to it. They’re all fans of the original and want to make a film that’s a new classic and I believe they will’.

Shooting will being this week in Portland, Oregon. The cast includes Gage Golightly (TEEN WOLF), Dustin Ingram, Samuel Davis, Matthew Daddario and Nadine Crocker. There’s no release date as yet.
