Variety is reporting that Universal’s upcoming Bride of Frankenstein redo has landed a writer.

David Koepp, best known for his work on the likes of Jurassic Park, Carlito’s Way, Mission: Impossible, Spider-Man and War of the Worlds, has landed the gig. At the last word, Universal was eyeing Angelina Jolie to star in and direct the film, although she’s reportedly holding off on committing to the project until she sees a script.

At present, Universal’s relaunched shared monster universe will start up with March 2017’s The Mummy. The classic Bride of Frankenstein is just one of many movies and characters lined up to be a part of this shared realm, with the likes of Dracula, Frankenstein and The Wolfman all expected to be a part of Universal’s future.
