With work now well underway on DEADPOOL, The Hollywood Reporter has word that the film has added another new cast member in the form of newcomer Brianna Hildebrand. She’ll be playing Ellie Phimister, better known as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

The character of Negasonic Teenage Warhead is a protégé of Emma Frost’s who has telepathic and precognitive powers. Created by Grant Morrison and Frank Quietly, she’s named after a song by Monster Magnet.

Hildebrand joins a cast that includes Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Morena Baccarin as Copycat, and an unknown role for Ed Skrein. There’ll also be an appearance from the X-Men’s Colossus, although Daniel Cudmore won’t be reprising his role from the X-MEN franchise.

To be directed by Tim Miller, DEADPOOL is currently set for a February 12th, 2016 release.
