Judge Dredd and Rogue Trooper artist Brett Ewins has died. The announcement has been made via comic book 2000 AD’s social media channels.

Ewins was perhaps best known for his iconic work on the comic strip Bad Company, a future war story that relied on Ewins elaborate art style to convey its strangeness. Ewins was an essential part of the British comic book scene in the 80’s and 90’s. His was one of the brilliant minds behind the comic book DEADLINE and his work has influenced a generation of British artists and creators.

Ewins suffered from severe health issues in recent years. We do not know at this time if this contributed to his death. His passing is a great loss to the comic book industry and the art world. STARBURST would like to offer our deepest condolences to Brett’s family and friends.
