Stephen King Derides Twilight

In a recent interview with The Guardian, Stephen King talks about his latest novel, and sequel to THE SHINING, DOCTOR SLEEP, being an alcoholic and the state of horror today.

Having written 56 books to date, Stephen King is easily one of the most prolific horror writers working today and has consistently been on best seller lists with each new release. However, King says that, contrary to popular belief (and despite the massive success of his novels), we aren’t in a golden age of horror. When asked why we’re not in a golden age despite the popularity of other horror franchises as Twilight, King responds: “I agree with Abra’s teacher friend who calls TWILIGHT and books like it tweenager porn. They’re really not about vampires and werewolves. They’re about how the love of a girl can turn a bad boy good.” Well said, sir.
