Following in the footsteps of the erotic adventures of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Of Grey, eBook publishers Total-E-Bound have commissioned some of their in-house writers to give classic books (i.e., works where the authors aren’t alive to object) a bit of an erotic tweak in their new Clandestine Classics series.

They use the original novels as a basis for the series, positing that what we originally read was a sanitised version of what actually took place.

In a move that is sure to alarm purists , Clandestine Classics’ version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s A Study In Scarlet (still called that, but with a co-author credit going to Sarah Masters) suggests that when Holmes and Watson are not working on a case, they spend time taking care of each other’s sexual needs. Not an unusual idea but they also describe these liaisons in explicit and graphic detail.

Other novels in the series include Pride And Prejudice, Jane Eyre and 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea…

The books will be available as eBook downloads from the 30^th of July, with a possibility of going into print if they take off. Reports that the original authors are rolling in their graves are unconfirmed.
