Miwk Publishing have just announced their latest title, for publication January 2015, and given the author and subject it might well be one to keep an eye on.

DRAMA AND DELIGHT: THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF VERITY LAMBERT is a portrait of DOCTOR WHO’s very first producer, and comes from the pen of RICHARD MARSON – who caused controversy last year with his book JN-T: THE LIFE AND SCANDALOUS TIMES OF JOHN NATHAN-TURNER.

The time-travelling Time Lord is far from all that Verity Lambert will be remembered for, though; in fact, it was just the beginning of a long and extremely distinguished career. Following her initial success, Lambert was responsible for such series as ADAM ADAMANT LIVES! and THE NAKED CIVIL SERVANT, and later on she created and produced such memorable series as MINDER, G.B.H. and JONATHAN CREEK.

She will always be remembered as the first producer of DOCTOR WHO, however, and once DRAMA AND DELIGHT sees publication, Marson will have earned the distinction of having catalogued both the birth and death of the original series.
