With production due to kick off this December, team BOND 24 are slowly releasing the names of new cast members. Stoic, intelligent and memorable, Dave Bautista’s performance as Drax the Destroyer in this year’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY has proven to be his breakout acting role, as it’s been revealed that he will play the main antagonist in Sam Mendes’ next James Bond instalment.

The eyes of the industry, and possibly the country, have been surveying the progression of the next Bond film, and producers have reportedly been on the hunt for an actor to reinstate a stylised villain of old into the current project. Simply named Hinx, Bautista’s character will hopefully revive the power of such franchise baddies as Jaws and Oddjob, bringing with him a new force to be reckoned with that a modern audience can appreciate. Similar to THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, the hero (in this case, Daniel Craig’s Bond) will be subject to a superior physicality that will introduce an alternate mode of fear into the contemporary narrative.

We are STARBURST are extremely pleased that Mendes is back in the director’s chair and the news of this huge casting decision has only inflated our excitement for the next Bond adventure. We’d love to know what our readers think about this, so don’t hesitate to forward your opinion on Drax the Destroyer entering the murky world of espionage!
