Purveyors of quality cinematic output, Eureka! are set to expand their series The Masters of Cinema and Eureka! Classics with a collection of some of the most celebrated masterpieces of the 20th century.

Their upcoming release slate, announced today, reads like a classic film fan’s dream, with some great titles to be of interest to cult cinema fans.

The biggest announcement from our sandbox is the HD debut of the BLACULA films from the ’70s. William Marshall stars in both William Crain’s BLACULA (1972) and Bob Kelljan’s SCREAM BLACULA SCREAM (1973, starring Pam Grier), which will be hitting Blu-ray on October 27th as a double bill collection.

Other equally tasty morsels finding their way onto disc include a lesser-known Federico Fellini TV film from 1970, I CLOWNS (October 20th) and Seijun (BRANDED TO KILL) Suzuki’s breakthrough 1963 film, YOUTH OF THE BEAST (October 27th).

Other titles expected later this year include Raymond Bernard’s stunning five-hour epic version of LES MISÉRABLES (1934) – a true spectacle, thankfully completely devoid of singing.

In keeping with previous releases, silent classics are not ignored, with  Fritz Lang’s SPIONE (SPIES, 1928) G.W. Pabst’s DIARY OF A LOST GIRL (1929), starring the legendary Louise Brooks, THE THIEF OF BAGDAD (1924), one of the most imaginative silent movies, directed by Raoul Walsh and starring Douglas Fairbanks, and D.W.Griffith’s INTOLERANCE (1916). All genuine classics, one and all.

All the releases will be new restorations, to the standard we have come to expect from Eureka!
