As Indiana Jones exchanged pleasantries with the Lady Mayor and Darth Vader queued at the bar, the official launch party for the BLACKPOOL COMIC CON got underway. Hosted by the inaugural event’s organisers Paddy O’Hare and Luke Williams at the Beach House Bar & Bistro the intention was clear; to make BLACKPOOL COMIC CON the best in Britain, if not Europe.

Security was strict for the launch

With some exciting guests and attractions already lined up, and with many more to be announced it looks like they will deliver on this ambitious goal. Stars such as Nancy Allen (ROBOCOP) and Verne Troyer (AUSTIN POWERS) are confirmed alongside a range of panels featuring famous names from THUNDERBIRDS, HARRY POTTER and others, ensuring there will be something for everyone as the best that the film and comic world has to offer descend on Blackpool.

Taking place on September 12th at the world renowned Winter Gardens this one day event looks set to establish a regular place on the calendar and given the response to some of the special guests that graced the launch, it looks like the event has found a spiritual home. Famous, and infamous characters such as Darth Vader and Boba Fett, Spider- Man and Indiana Jones mingled with the crowds while leading character actor Spencer Wilding (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, GAME OF THRONES) brought a little Hollywood sparkle to the promenade.
