With T’Challa’s solo adventure just over a year away, some new information has come out on the backstory of Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther.

As reported by Oakland’s East Bay Times, Marvel’s Black Panther will actually feature some footage from T’Challa’s past in which he took to the United States in order to further his education. To be more precise, there’ll be at least one scene that shows the young hero-in-waiting studying at Saint Mary’s College High School, Berkeley.

For those well versed in the comic book lore of Black Panther, you’ll be aware that part of his origin story sees him spending time in the best educational establishments in the US and the UK, complete with a Physics degree from Oxford University.

Joining Boseman’s King of Wakanda in the film are Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, Daniel Kaluuya, Florence Kasumba, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Sterling K. Brown, and the always-great Angela Bassett.

To be directed by Creed’s Ryan Coogler, Marvel’s Black Panther is due to start shooting this month in Atlanta, Georgia ahead of a February 2018 release.
