With Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine swansong now in cinemas and garnering a whole host of praise (you can find our review of the film here), director James Mangold has teased the notion of a black and white version of Logan being made available in the future.

Given that a lot of the early marketing for Logan was based around simple, effective black and white photos, Mangold was asked on Twitter about a black and white version of the film possibly being put out. His response was a simple, “Workin’ on it,” before he replied to another fan with, “Good to know… working on it!”

Whether anything actually happens on this front, we’ll have to wait and see, but it could well mean that the home release of Logan is accompanied by a black and white version of the film, much like Mangold’s The Wolverine was accompanied by an R-rated cut of that movie.

By all accounts, Logan is definitely, definitely, definitely the last outing for Hugh Jackman’s Wolvie, making it nine times that Jackman has donned the famed claws. Safe to say, if this really is it for this cinematic Canucklehead, it is a send-off that finally gives this beloved character the story and movie that we’ve all been waiting for.
