With the core cast currently being lined up, Warner Brothers’ Birds of Prey has now been given a set release date.

The WB has booked in the Cathy Yen-helmed effort for February 7th, 2020, with an IMAX release also planned.

Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn has long been on board to headline the picture, and we now know that Black Canary, Huntress, Renee Montoya, and Cassandra Cain will be joining the Maid of Mischief in Birds of Prey.

Over the weekend, new reports gave an update on what names are in the running for those other roles. Black Mirror’s Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Underground’s Jurnee Smollet-Bell, and Hidden Figures’ Janelle Monae are believed to be up for the Black Canary gig, while the Huntress role is being linked to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World’s Mary Elizabeth Winstead, The Leftovers’ Margaret Qualley, and How I Met Your Mother’s Cristin Milioti. For Renee Montoya, One Day at a Time’s Justina Machado and I Love Dick’s Roberta Colindrez are the two frontrunners. As for Cassandra Cain, no names are in the frame for that just yet, but the character will reportedly be portrayed as a 12-year-old young heroine-in-waiting in the film.

Expect more on Birds of Prey as it continues to develop.
