With the solo movie for Ezra Miller’s Flash having recently added Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, now comes another new addition in the shape of Billy Crudup.

Over the weekend, Variety brought word that the Almost Famous and Watchmen actor will be playing the father of Miller’s Barry Allen. In the comic book world, Barry’s father is Dr. Henry Allen, a man who is framed for the murder of his wife by a villainous speedster. Of course, Henry has been brilliantly played on the small screen recently by John Wesley Shipp in The CW’s The Flash.

To be directed by Dope’s Rick Famuyiwa, The Flash is currently set for an early 2018 release. Before that, Miller’s Scarlet Speedster will be a part of Zack Snyder’s Justice League when that hits screens in November 2017. Up next for Crudup, though, is Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant.
