With the Power Rangers redo currently shooting, the film has brought in Bill Hader to voice the titular team’s robot companion, Alpha 5.

The news was confirmed by the film’s official Twitter account, with the comedian having actually previously lent his vocals to bringing Star Wars’ BB-8 to life. Along with the caption of “Aye-yi-yi! Welcome #BillHader as #Alpha5 to the #PowerRangersMovie – Coming in 2017!”, the movie put out the below image to confirm the casting:

The official blurb on Power Rangers reads:

Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

Hader joins a cast that includes Dacre Montgomery as Jason/Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy/Blue Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly/Pink Ranger, Becky G as Trini/Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack/Black Ranger, and Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa.

To be directed by Dean Israelite, Power Rangers is set for a March 24th, 2017 release.
