This summer’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY proved to be one of the most successful films of the year. With some thinking Marvel Studios and Disney had maybe become a little arrogant with such a choice of characters – we mean, centring a blockbuster on a bunch of ragtag heroes who a good portion of comic book fans weren’t even familiar with, let alone casual cinemagoers? – the stunning space opera proved to be a massive hit with both fans and critics alike. As director James Gunn switches his attention to GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2, it seems as if Karen Gillan’s bad-ass, blue-skinned Nebula could be playing a major role in the sequel.

Speaking to Yahoo Movies, Gunn revealed, “I have so many plans for Nebula. I love Nebula. I fell in love with the design of Nebula. I cast the role around that design. I fell in love with Karen as a person, and I love the character of Nebula.”

The director added, “To me, she’s the Boba Fett of the movie. She’s the one that you really dig because she’s the cool one that we need to get more of. I hope to god that we get a chance to see a lot more of Nebula.”

We’d definitely agree with Gunn’s praise of Gillan and how Nebula was portrayed in the film. Here’s hoping that we get to see more of the character in GUARDIANS 2, which at this stage is set for a UK release on April 28th, 2017.
