As Gotham gears up for its third season, there’s word of a villainous new addition for the FOX show.
TV Line is reporting that Benedict Samuel has landed the role of Jervis Tetch, aka Mad Hatter, in the series. Samuel will be familiar to many genre fans for his appearances in the most recent season of The Walking Dead, where he played a creepy member of The Wolves.
Where Gotham is concerned, Mad Hatter is described as: “Tetch is a talented hypnotist teetering on the edge of madness. He arrives in Gotham with an unwavering desire to find his sister, Alice, a young woman who went missing in the city years ago. It is anyone’s guess just how far down the rabbit hole he’s willing to go in order to find her.”
Mad Hatter was created back in 1948, debuting in Batman #49 and based on the famed character from Alice in Wonderland.
This is just the latest new rogue to join Gotham, with the Court of Owls set to make a huge splash in Season 3, not to mention the debut of Solomon Grundy.
The new season of Gotham will premiere in the US on September 19th, with a UK return to follow shortly after.SHARE YOUR COMMENTS BELOW OR ON TWITTER @STARBURST_MAG
