Earlier this year, filmmaker Ben Wheatley (Kill List, High-Rise, Rebecca) revealed he had shot a micro-budget horror film during quarantine – shot in just fifteen days – the title of which was announced to be In The Earth.
Distributor Neon recently released a teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated film, which is due to premiere at Sundance Film Festival next month. Though the teaser does not reveal much, we do know that Wheatley's latest stars Joel Fry, Ellora Torchia, Hayley Squires, and Reece Shearsmith. Set in a world beset by a deadly virus, In The Earth follows a scientist and a park scout as they venture into a forest for a routine equipment run. As the night passes, their journey turns nightmarish when their surroundings seemingly come to life.
With a full trailer likely to drop prior to the movie's festival world premiere on January 30th, fans shouldn't have to wait much longer for more details on the upcoming indie horror.
