Remember last week’s news that Ben Affleck could very well be directing a Batman movie? Well it looks as if that is indeed the case.

Deadline is reporting that not only will Affleck be starring in and directing the next solo Caped Crusader outing, he’ll also be co-writing the script with Geoff Johns. Johns is a name instantly familiar to comic book fans for being the Chief Creative Officer of DC and for somebody who has written for several Bat books over the years. In addition to this, Johns is also somebody who has worked closely with TV shows such as Smallville, Arrow and The Flash.

It’s believed that the Dynamic Duo of Affleck and Johns have already started collaborating, with a draft expected by the end of the summer just before Affleck goes off to direct his next movie, Live By Night.

No title or release date is known for the World’s Greatest Detective’s next movie at this stage, although the rumour is that it will simply be called The Batman and could be set for a November 2018 release.

Before all of that though, Affleck’s Dark Knight will make his debut in March’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. As well as this, Batfleck is also set for appearances in Suicide Squad and the two-part Justice League.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
