It was only last month that Bruce Campbell was talking up the possibility of a fourth Evil Dead movie, but now the genre icon has returned with some far less encouraging news.

With Ash vs. Evil Dead currently facing an uncertain future, Campbell had previously stated that if the series wasn’t renewed past its current third season then there’s a chance to look at doing a new Evil Dead picture.

Having been asked about the future of Ashley J. Williams at a recent Evening with Bruce Campbell event, the star explained, “If they cancel it, I think Ash is done. I have lavender on my property. I’m going to smoke weed and hang out.”

If you ask many a genre fan, it would be an absolute travesty it this beloved genre character was never seen again following the third season of Ash vs. Evil Dead. In fact, it would be as far away from groovy as you can get.

It was believed that some more solid details on Ash vs. Evil Dead’s future will be known by the end of March, so expect more on all of this as we get it.
