Whilst Arrow has already revealed many new additions ahead of the show’s fifth season (Chad L. Coleman as a recurring villain being the latest), now comes word of another comic book character appearing in Season 5.

Variety has word that Madison McLaughlin will be back for the new season but under a different persona. McLaughlin played Evelyn Sharp, the Black Canary impersonator, towards the end of Season 4, and Evelyn will be back in Star City under the mantle of Artemis.

In the comic book realm, Artemis is the daughter of Sportsmaster and Tigress, and she’d follow the footsteps of her parents into villainy. In the animated Young Justice show, however, she was depicted as a hero with a troubled past.

Whether Arrow’s take positions her as a hero or villain remains to be seen, although we’d guess she’ll be another troubled soul for the Green Arrow to take under his ever-expanding wing.

Arrow’s fifth season premieres on October 5th in the US, with a UK return for the show hopefully following shortly after that date.
