This past weekend brought some good and bad news for those eager to see Jason Momoa’s Aquaman fly solo, for his upcoming movie has finally been given an official release date, although said date is a little later than was initially expected.

Warner Brothers has announced that James Wan’s Aquaman will be swimming to the big screen on October 5th, 2018, which is three months later than the July 27th, 2018 date initially penciled in for the film.

As well as Momoa’s King of Atlantis, Aquaman will also star Amber Heard as the titular hero’s wife, Mera, and Willem Dafoe is on board as an Atlantean advisor called Vulko. Production is set to start in Australia early next year ahead of that October 2018 release date.

Up next for Jason Momoa’s Marine Marvel, though, is Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which hits cinemas in November 2017.
