Due to the popularity and positive reaction to this year’s Ant-Man, Marvel Studios quickly went about announcing a follow-up movie, Ant-Man and The Wasp, and that film has now added two writers to its ranks.

Deadline reports that Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari have been brought in to the fold, with the pair likely best known for their work on the Transformers franchise (but let’s not hold that against them). The duo also did some rewrite work on Ant-Man itself so have previous with Marvel. Barrer and Ferrari will co-write the Ant-Man and The Wasp script with star Paul Rudd, who was also heavily involved in the script for the first film. Adam McKay is another who will seemingly be helping out on scripting duties, with him someone else who helped with the first film’s screenplay and even nearly ended up directing the film before Peyton Reed landed the gig.

Plot-wise, nothing is known at this stage bar the film will see Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne take on the Wasp mantle and work alongside Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang/Ant-Man. It’s also expected that Michael Douglas will be back as Hank Pym.

To be directed once more by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and The Wasp is currently set for a July 6th, 2018 release. Before that, you can expect to see Rudd’s Ant-Man pop up in May’s Captain America: Civil War, where he’ll be firmly on the side of Cap as some of Marvel’s biggest heroes do battle.
