Finally a Justice League Dark movie is definitely happening!!!! Well, it is, just maybe not as you were hoping.

Previously, Justice League Dark was a live-action movie that Guillermo del Toro was writing and directing until he had to walk away due to scheduling conflicts. Following del Toro’s departure, JL Dark was a little in limbo. Now comes word, though, that an animated Justice League Dark movie is on the way.

This news was revealed due to the upcoming Batman: The Killing Joke. That hotly-anticipated animated release has seen its bonus features revealed, with the British Board of Film Classification confirming that a sneak peek of Justice League Dark to be a part of the release. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has regularly carried early previews of upcoming projects as part of their releases.

The Justice League Dark team debuted as part of DC’s New 52 (failed) revitalization, with the paranormal group made up of the likes of John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna, and Madame Xanadu.

At the moment, the future of the live-action Justice League Dark crew remains up in the air, but it’s likely that the animated Justice League Dark release will be made available by the time the year’s out.
