Another day, another redo…

Fresh off last weekend’s news of Lethal Weapon being relaunched as a TV series, not to mention TV remakes of Rush Hour and Training Day just two adaptations in development, now comes word that Angelina Jolie’s Salt is next up to get the small screen treatment.

ScreenDaily has the scoop on this, with it being reported that Sony is currently shipping the idea around various networks and broadcasters at this week’s European Film Market. Interestingly enough, it’s not known if there are any plans to bring any such TV series to the US at this stage, but for now pitches are being focussed on European markets.

On these developments, Sony’s Diego Suarez briefly said, “We want to bring it to Europe in a completely different way.” And that’s it: no further details are known on any of this just yet, although one trail of thought is that it could work similar to the recent Limitless TV series that tied into the initial movie.

Phillip Noyce’s Salt saw Jolie playing a CIA agent. To elaborate too much more would serve as some major spoilers, as the film is a twist-filled effort that centres on the question as to whether Jolie’s Evelyn Salt is a double agent, a mole, or something else.
