With Mission: Impossible 6 assembling its cast, now comes word that the film has added Angela Bassett to its ranks.

Deadline broke the news, with the Academy Award winner landing a to-be-confirmed role in the movie. This news sees the What’s Love Got to Do with It and American Horror Story actress join a cast that currently includes Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Sean Harris, Vanessa Kirby, Henry Cavill and Alec Baldwin.

To be directed once more by Rogue Nation’s Christopher McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible 6 is currently set for a July 27th, 2018 release.
