After plenty of fan speculation over the gravel-toned narration in the recent STAR WARS: EPISODE VII – THE FORCE AWAKENS trailer, motion capture wizard Andy Serkis has revealed he’s the one behind the voice.

Serkis confirmed rumours on two separate occasions, being Good Morning America and the UK’s own Absolute Radio, commenting that he found it funny how fans thought the voice belonged to Benedict Cumberbatch, who’s making a habit of franchise-hopping.

Despite being quick to talk about the narration, the actor piped down when asked about which character he was playing. More as we hear it.

To be directed by J.J. Abrams, STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is set for a December 18th, 2015 release.
