With Paul Feig’s female-driven Ghostbusters movie now shooting, the film has added a few new cast members.

The Wrap has word that Andy Garcia and Michael K. Williams have joined Feig’s relaunch of the fan favourite franchise. Garcia is best known for the likes of The Godfather Part III and Ocean’s Eleven, whilst Williams won huge plaudits for his work in The Wire and Boardwalk Empire and will be familiar to genre fans for the RoboCop remake. In terms of their roles, Garcia is to play the Mayor of New York City, a role originally played by David Margulies in the first two Ghostbusters movies, and Williams will be playing a mystery character known as Hawkins.

In other casting news, Veep’s Matt Walsh has landed a small role known as Rourke, and NY1 news anchor Pat Kiernan has got himself the gig of a news anchor in the film.

With Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones as the titular team, not to mention Chris Hemsworth as their receptionist, Ghostbusters is set for a July 22nd, 2016 release.
