Whereas it’s being teased that Oliver Queen may finally switch his romantic sights to Felicity Smoak in Season 3 of ARROW, EW is reporting that somebody else has their eyes on the Emerald Archer. The site has confirmed that DC’s Carrie Cutter, aka Cupid, is to appear in the show, with SUPERNATURAL’s Amy Gumenick cast in the role.

The character of Cutter initially started off as a special ops soldier. After an experimental procedure left her unstable and bordering on insane, she became obsessed with Green Arrow and took up the villainess moniker of Cupid. As it happens, ARROW executive producer Andrew Kreisberg is actually the one responsible for creating Cupid back in 2009.

Speaking to EW, Kreisberg said, “I always loved the idea of Green Arrow having a crazed fan. When I was writing the comic book, my goal was to create a villain who would last. Cupid has since appeared in the DC NATION shorts on Cartoon Network, and to have her fight out TV Arrow is so much more than I ever could have hoped for the character.”

ARROW returns to The CW on October 8th, with the show’s UK return to follow shortly after.
