After the so-so response to this year’s Terminator Genisys, many wondered how that would affect that previously-confirmed next two Terminator movies. Well, there’s word this morning that says all future Terminator films are now on hold.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, claiming that the next two Terminator films, which were to be the next two parts of a trilogy started with Genisys, has been put on hold indefinitely due to the poor performance of this year’s attempt to relaunch the franchise.

Terminator Genisys massively underwhelmed at the box office, particularly in the US. In total, the film has taken home $440 million, although $112 million of that came purely from China. The film cost over $150 million, and by the time all is said and done it will make a loss for Skydance and Paramount.

So, I’ll be back?! Maybe, but just not any time soon.
