Another remake is on the horizon, this time in the form of ALIEN NATION.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the duo who penned IRON MAN, have been brought in by 20th Century Fox to write the script for this redo.

Originally, the property started as a 1988 movie starring James Caan, Martyn Patinkin and Terence Stamp. The story centred on an Earth that has aliens integrated into community alongside humans, although the aliens are segregated and looked down upon by some. A TV series and several straight-to-DVD movies followed.

To give an idea of what we can hope to expect from this relaunch, it’s believed that Fox has plans on doing for ALIEN NATION what they did for PLANET OF THE APES, utilising the evolving relationship between aliens and humans in a similar way to apes and humans in the APES relaunch.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
