Now that Ridley Scott has made it clear that his Prometheus sequel will be called Alien: Covenant and be the second of a new Alien prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus, the legendary director has revealed that we’ll be seeing plenty of familiar faces when Covenant arrives in 2017.

When asked by The Wrap about if he’ll bring back H.R. Giger’s iconic Xenomorph for Covenant, Scott replied, “We’ll have them all. Egg, face-hugger, chest-burster, then the big boy.”

Upon the Covenant title being revealed, the official synopsis for the film was released and read as below:

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in Alien with Alien: Covenant, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus – and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world – whose sole survivor is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Whilst Fassbender will be key to Alien: Covenant, Noomi Rapace’s Elizabeth Shaw will also be present in a smaller role. At present, the film is currently set for an October 6th, 2017 release.
