Following last week’s casting of Lily Gladstone as Carol Red Crow, the upcoming Scalped series has found its lead.

Deadline is reporting that Alex Meraz, likely best known for appearances in the likes of Bone Tomahawk, Suicide Squad and Twilight, has been cast as Dashiell Bad Horse in this new small screen comic book adaptation.

The official blurb on the property reads:

Fifteen years ago, Dashiell “Dash” Bad Horse ran away from a life of abject poverty and utter hopelessness on the Prairie Rose Indian Reservation searching for something better. Now he’s come back home armed with nothing but a set of nunchucks, a hell-bent-for-leather attitude and one dark secret, to find nothing much has changed on “The Rez” – short of a glimmering new casino, and a once-proud people overcome by drugs and organized crime. Is he here to set things right or just get a piece of the action?

Based on Jason Aaron and R.M. Guera’s Scalped, this new show is certainly one that has our attention. Big Love and Star Trek Beyond’s Doug Jung has penned the pilot’s script, and Black’s Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi will direct.
