The SEQUENTIAL summer sale, which ends on Saturday, is the biggest indie graphic novel sale EVER, featuring over 350 digital graphic novels at 50-90% off the print price.

18 publishers are participating in the sale on the SEQUENTIAL iPad app and offering an amazing range of titles, including Hellboy, Sin City and Love & Rockets.

Alex de Campi, writer of Grindhouse (Dark Horse) and No Mercy (Image), has selected her top ten comic and graphic novel recommendations from the sale:

1. Bad Houses

I’m a frequent collaborator with Carla Speed McNeil so yes, biased, but Sara Ryan’s story is subtle and amazing and full of feels.

2. Alec: The Years Have Pants

Among the first, and in my mind still the best, autobio comic.

3. Bolland Strips

The Actress and the Bishop, Bolland’s humorous, rhyming story collected here, is 1) gorgeous and 2) very cleverly rhymed and 3) still prettier than anything you will ever draw.

4. Hip Hop Family Tree

Ed Piskor’s magnum opus  – fun, witty, informative, meticulously researched, and riffing off classic comics here there and everywhere.

5. Charley’s War

One of the all-time best war comics.

6. Judge Dredd: Mega City Two

Ulises Farinas was born to draw Judge Dredd. And Pug Dredd. And mega-cities in all their mind numbing detail.

7. Locas #1: Maggie

OK, under-rock-dweller. You gonna ignore Jaime Hernandez YET AGAIN for a mere £6.99? You know you should buy it. You know you will love it. Stop being that guy/gal.

8. Palomar #1

And Beto for 6.99 too! No Xaime without Beto, no Beto without Xaime.

9. Ricky Rouse Has A Gun

Been a fan of John Aggs’ art forever. Don’t know the writer but would buy this on the strength of the concept and on John’s involvement.

10. Mind MGMT vol 1

Matt Kindt’s great, continually surprising psycho-drama. Quiet and effective.

Honourable mentions: Luther Arkwright and Blacksad (because we assume you already have them); Concrete Park; Verity Fair.
