Earlier this week saw an enjoyable 2 ½ minute clip surface for Marvel’s AGENT CARTER. We knew that the show was to start airing during AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.’s mid-season break, but now comes confirmation of the exact airing date. ABC have announced that AGENT CARTER will officially premiere on ABC on January 6th, 2015. The Peggy Cater-focussed series will run for eight episodes, with S.H.I.E.L.D. returning on March 5th to continue its second season.

The official word on the series reads:

Marvel’s AGENT CARTER, starring CAPTAIN AMERICA’s Hayley Atwell, follows the story of Peggy Carter. It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life – Steve Rogers.

Hopefully we’ll get some confirmation on a UK debut for the show over the next few weeks.
